Signals

Signals are professional updates you share with your network. They represent meaningful milestones or asks — not casual status updates. When you publish a signal, it appears on your handle page and reaches your network based on the audience you choose.

Types of Signals

Signals fall into a few categories:

  • New role — you’ve started a new position or company
  • Milestone — you’ve shipped something, hit a target or reached a professional landmark
  • Ask — you’re looking for something specific (advice, introductions, hires)
  • Offer — you have something to give (availability, resources, expertise)

Each type helps your network understand what’s happening and whether there’s a way to help or connect.

Creating a Signal

You can create a signal from the Signals section of the dashboard. Write a short description of your update and select the type that fits. Keep it specific — “Launched v2 of our API platform” is more useful to your network than “Big news coming soon.”

Agent-Assisted Drafting

Your agent can help draft signals based on context it already has. Ask it something like “Draft a signal about my new role” in the Agent tab and it will propose text you can review and edit before publishing. Your agent may also suggest signals proactively — for example, if it notices you’ve changed companies or hit a milestone worth sharing.

Audience Controls

When publishing a signal, choose who sees it:

  • Public — visible to anyone who visits your handle page
  • Connections — visible only to your network
  • Targeted — visible to specific groups or connection lists

Audience controls let you share selectively. An “Ask” signal for hiring might go to your full network while an internal milestone might stay limited to close connections.
